Stealth Asteroid Misses Earth
Or rather we missed it, on July 20th the Asteroid named 2017 001 passed the earth. Only 76,448 miles separated the passenger jet sized asteroid from hitting the planet at around 11,369 miles an hour and no one noticed it till the 23rd of July when it was heading away from earth. The image above shows the path of the asteroid 2017 001. I would say nice catch but...it wasn't, hopefully we and our technology get a little better at detecting these monster asteroids faster and we can have a little more of a heads up in the future.
